High School Isn’t That Hard
I wrote this on 4 January 2011 while watching Easy A. It’s a song I’ve wanted to write for a long time. And I think of it basically every time I see a high school movie and I think, really, these are your problems? I had seen a few minutes of Little Miss Sunshine last week and thought about the topic then. I caught the scene where Steve Carell’s character tells the boy that high school is his prime suffering years.
I understand the suffering when you’re a teenager and you’re trapped in a situation that you have no control or choice. But I don’t like it when fictional adult characters say high school was the worst. I just brace myself for them.
