As immediately horrible as the concept of a “Before Watchmen” series is, I picked up Silk Spectre #1 because hey, Silk Spectre drawn by Amanda Conner. I enjoyed it a lot. It’s Laurie’s high school days and I got a very Marty McFly back in time vibe. I guess because they’re taking a character based in the eighties and going back to her youth. Amanda’s art is excellent, especially the individual panels that are the cartoony imaginings of a high school girl. I’ll pick up the next one. I just fear the idea that they’ll merge the Watchmen into the rest of the DC universe.
